Plátano Macho
also sometimes called Plantaina

I have often wondered about those banana-looking things.

Now I know.

I had read that they must be cooked and not eaten raw, so of course, I had to try a bite of raw. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to try again.

The darker the skin, the sweeter the taste.

After frying the slices in olive oil, Adriana sprinkled them with raw sugar, followed by a stream of heavy cream, and then sprinkled cinnamon.

Verdict: I wouldn't bother to cook them at home, but I'd be glad to eat them at a friend's house.
