Clafouti French Restaurant

The iPad Menu

Nery and I returned to Clafouti for the good food and, especially, to check out their new iPad menu.

As soon as you are seated, a bi-lingual waiter brings a printed menu and an iPad for each adult at the table.  He takes the time to explain how to use it.

The iPad has a picture, description and price for every item Clafouti offers.  Ordering from the iPad is not as fast as using the print menu, but it sure is fun.

There is a time-lapse video of the building of the restaurant.  Fun to watch while waiting for your order.

The iPad is connected to a free wifi that allows you to surf the web while your food is cooking.  All the food pictures on this page were emailed to me from the menu.

I could have spent the whole afternoon playing with this great idea.

But they wouldn't let mr take it home.

I'm looking at the salmon I plan to order.

Nery and I both like the onion soup with bread and two kinds of cheese.

Neither of us drinks alcohol.  Nery likes fruit juice.  I'm a plain water guy.

Nery had a steak with roasted red bell peppers and new potatoes.

I had salmon anointed with a black cherry reduction that was as wonderful as it was surprising. It was accompanied by roasted veggies and new potatoes.  This picture does not do justice to the dish.

This chocolate killer is made of four kinds of chocolate and  nothing else.  It is intense.  It has satisfied my chocolate cravings for a long time to come.

Nery likes fancy coffee.

The tab with tip was $800 pesos or about $58 dollars.
